Allyssa Bradley, Biomedical Sciences PhD Candidate, UCSF
Allyssa is currently a Biomedical Sciences Ph.D. student at UCSF, where she is rotating through different research labs before choosing the focus of her doctoral research. She graduated from UCLA with a degree in Microbiology, Immunology, and Molecular Genetics and a minor in Evolutionary Medicine. Before starting her Ph.D., she studied eye diseases at Stanford University using stem cell research, retinal organoids (mini retinas grown from stem cells), and mouse models. She is now interested in studying maternal and pediatric health.

Kyle Kim, Neuroscience PhD Candidate, UCLA
Kyle is currently a Ph.D. student in Neuroscience at UCLA, where he studies how the retina (the light-sensing tissue in the back of the eye) changes as eye diseases progress. Before starting his Ph.D., he studied diseases that affect the brain, eyes, and hearing at Stanford University, using laboratory experiments and genetic data to learn how these diseases develop. Today, he combines biology, electrical recordings, and advanced imaging to study how the eye and brain communicate and to help develop new treatments for vision loss.
